FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a parlay bet?

A parlay (also called a combined bet or accumulator) combines two or more individual wagers into a single bet. Every selection must win for the parlay to pay out. The payout is calculated by multiplying the decimal odds of each leg, so the more legs you add, the larger the potential return — and the lower the probability of cashing.

How is parlay payout calculated?

Convert each leg from American to decimal odds, multiply them together, then multiply by your stake. For example: a 3-leg parlay with -110 (1.91), +120 (2.20), and -150 (1.67) decimal odds = 1.91 × 2.20 × 1.67 ≈ 7.02. A $10 stake returns $70.20 total ($60.20 profit).

What is the maximum parlay size at NM tribal sportsbooks?

It varies. Most NM tribal books accept parlays of 2-10 legs. Isleta Resort & Casino (BetMGM) often allows up to 12-15 legs. Maximum payouts are capped at each casino — typically $50,000 to $1,000,000 depending on the book. Confirm before placing a large parlay.

Are same-game parlays (SGPs) available in New Mexico?

Yes, but only at Isleta Resort & Casino through BetMGM. The other four NM tribal sportsbooks (Santa Ana Star, Buffalo Thunder, Inn of the Mountain Gods, Route 66) generally do not offer same-game parlays. If you want SGPs, Isleta is your only legal NM option.

Why are parlays considered "sucker bets"?

Each parlay leg carries the sportsbook's vig, and that vig compounds across legs. A 4-leg parlay of -110 lines has roughly 12-15% theoretical hold for the book, vs. ~4.5% on a single bet. Recreational bettors love the big-payout potential, but the math heavily favors the house. Stick to small stakes if you parlay.
